Below are all of N.J. Anderson's postings, with the most recent are at the bottom of the page. Now the power has been increased on all the major multiplexes including Rowridge since the end of analogue transmissions does this mean that within the coverage area of the transmitter reception is now possible in virtually every room of the house using a settop aerial the same as with the old UHF analogue transmissions?

I recently purchased a second TV set for my conservatory and as there is no external aerial connection decided to buy an indoor "one for all" type with an amplified base numbered SV 9360. It also has a twin rod aerial which extends to one metre in height. Positioned close to the window it affords satisfactory reception on all available digital radio and TV channels with only occasional break up of signal on a few channels. I live 15 miles from the Rowridge transmitter. I would recommend this aerial.

Will the newly announced "That's Solent" local freeview channel from Southampton transmitted from Rowridge be receivable in Portsmouth?

Can you post a service area of all approved and proposed local UK TV services? It would be much appreciated.

When a freeview local channel using the new allocated channel 8 covers an area such as That's Solent which covers an area from the Rowridge IOW transmitter to include Winchester, Southampton, Portsmouth and most of the IOW and intends to split the area into three to include Southampton, Portsmouth and IOW areas for their own news will Ofcom ensure that all those areas will be adequately covered?

I observe from the signal coverage map of the forthcoming local TV station "That's Solent" the whole of Portsea Island is not shown as having an equally strong signal from Rowridge which serves the station. Should not the parameter be adjusted to serve the whole Solent area covered more adequately and can not the problem for those living in the effected areas be served by a slight adjustment to their antenna?

Why is it that Weymouth, certain parts of which can receive signals from the Rowridge transmitter site, is officially covered by West Country TV and BBC South West with a local relay transmitter, but is, according to the editorial coverage area of both BBC South and Meridean, located in their coverage area?

Why has RT been spoiled by the taking of advertising between their programmes and has meant the end of the world wide weather check because their space has been taking over by commercials for the UK audience? Is this also due to happen to Aljaceras which would mean advertising on virtually every non BBC channel?

Is it possible to publish a list of all the forthcoming channel 8 freeview local stations, their coverage area and approximate on air dates? I'm sure this would be much appreciated as their is a strong demand for local news programmes.

The problem with ITV1 today is that there is no flexibility in the regions to opt out at times other than the restricted regional news magazine slots to broadcast anything of interest to the region unlike the BBC which does have greater flexibility to opt out for programmes of particular interest to the region. This situation could and should change.
