Wasn't get any signal in wet weather 12 miles from the transmitter. Having moved to rural Wales I've abandoned Freeview and gone for Freesat plus the delights of Wimax rural broadband since BT broadband hasn't arrived in the villages.

The London issue of Crystal Palace is that Com 7 & 8 are now right at the opposite end of the old Band A aerial. Basically most of London unless you are sitting on the transmitter now needs a wideband aerial... the elements reduce in size over the length. My issue was that Freeview sneaked that up and if you are not following the press you miss it. This sight is wrong and doesn't reflect the last set of changes.
As I muttered above I found BBC News HD et al disappearing during rain. Given I was moving I left it. Worth noting if Freeview is your only means of reception you can get the aerial upgraded for free, if you have cable or satellite you cant. It was annoying to find the data on this site incorrect but that's where we are and why certain HD channels in London disappear during adverse whether conditions since reception is marginal when the wrong aerial is used. Apparently there is still some debate about the long term future of Freeview.

Did sneak up if you have the Freeview message blocked as I did on mky Humax and this website is wrong.
Basically the Government has trashed Freeview by selling the frequencies off. You don't expect to find that the whole of London that uses Freeview needs to change it's aerial to a widebeam one... good for business for installers - trashing otherwise. Now in West Wales there is no COM 7 or COM 8 which is why I waved goodbye to Freeview. It's just a hobbled system.

Bit academic the total number of channels from CP if they change the required aerial group for London as they did. My band A aerial at 12 miles away didn't pull in COM 7&8 on a wet day. Freeview with the Government's sell off of the spectrum is just wrecked as they enforced users to change aerials. The free upgrade of the aerial only applies if you don't have sat or cable in the house. For alot of London those old band A aerials won't be used or will be used in the kids room.

Basically the whole of London should have changed from a band A ariel when it went up on channel 55 etc. You could get it financially supported if your only means of reception was freeview. Got cable or sat no. Obviously they kept quite about this.
I lived in London when it was moved of band A but was unaware of this. Rain and I lost reception. E4 area. Didn't help by this site publishing incorrect information.
The government sold out the frequencies and wrecked extended freeview HD. Living in West Wales they never got it so on Freesat now. Wimex microwave delivered broadband as well since BT never extended it very far as they run out of Welsh Government money.

The solution is to move to Wales where we've had it for some time. Ditto Scotland and NI. Quess they thought they had better do it for the country region's else they would get stick.

We know the Government doesn't like Regions.
Population of England is 56 million. 13 regions. 4.3 million on average.
Wales population 3.1 million. ;).
Basically the BBC didn't want to push sub regional identity in England whilst the region's themselves they scould.
We hear a lot of English region nonsense in Wales. I support your sub region's:). Have to keep the Anglo Saxons happy else they will invade again with the Normans and claim Wales as their own... second homes and all that :). Going to tax them at 3 times for that :).
Still selling of com7 and 8 has had a levelling influence where the transmitters never got the coverage. Rolling hills etc. I didn't bother when I moved here. No com7 or 8. Just Freesat. Fibre to the Premises has arrived so it's like living in London now.

I can recommend the modified software for your HDR-Fox T2 it has the Tune Fix module. Does an auto tune and re populates the recording schedule. If you do a manual re tune with the modded software it also populates the schedule again after two reboots. If you Google

You will find it. It's a smorgasburg of useful additions that give added functionality.
