Below are all of Peter Henderson's postings, with the most recent are at the bottom of the page.Another good reason to have Freesat as a back up, even if you have good terrestrial reception.
I well remember the major fault at Divis in the late 70's (or was it the early 80's ?) when we had no TV for almost a week. The transmitter was subsequently on low power4 for several months afterwards.
Satellite or cable didn't exist in those days, so it was all very frustrating!

Clermont Cairn is definitely receivable in West Belfast with a fairly modest aerial. Group C/D vertically polerised.
If you're getting TG4, RTE1, and RTE2 on channels 51,52, and 53 then you're receiving the NIMux and not Clermont Cairn Daithi.

The DAB problem could be due to the fact that Digital One will be broadcasting from Divis in a few months time.
I think FM transmissions are still from the old mast.

I'm not exactly sure where exactly in BT 28 you are Deirde, but it appears to be west of Belfast in and around the Lisburn area, in which case you should be fine for both Saorview and the NI mux, unless live in Dunmurry which I gather is hopeless for Saorview.
Your TV must be Freeview HD, not HD ready. HD ready simply means it has an HDMI socket and capable of receiving HD from an external source.
It's likely you'll need to invest in a Freeview HD set top box or PVR (recorder) in order to receive either Saorview or the NI mux. Neither can be received on a standard definition Freeview TV.
Check to see if you can receive the Freeview HD channels at 101-104. Alternatively, you may be receiving Saorview in the 800's but with sound only if your TV is a Feeeview SD model.

Also, if you're not receiving Saorview with the Saorview set top box you may need to invest in a new aerial. Check to see if you have one. RTE aerials are vertically polarised i.e. the elements will be pointing up and down rather than across the way.

Well, Radio 5 Live is on MW along with Talksport and Absolute Radio.
Given that most Cars don't have DAB radios fitted, I'd say analogue switch off is still a good few years in the future.
There are also huge gaps in digital radio coverage throughout the country, so this move could be somewhat premature.

DRM would have been good had there been affordable radios available in the high street. Given the fact that did not happen is surely the reason for it's demise.

DAB+ may very well be the future if Ofcom ever decide to back it.
Why they haven't is beyond me.

Only if you have a paid subscription to Sky Mike.
The NIMux isn't available on Freesat.
You should be able to receive the NIMux from Black Mountain and possibly Saorview from Clermont Cairn in Donaghadee.
