hackett: It is not likley that a booster will help you.

You should probably hand on for 13 April 2011, which is the end of the official switchover, when you are predicted to get most of the multiplexes, but even then you are going to have to wait for 14th September 2011 before the commercial multiplexes are at full power.

I would try just plugging, for the moment, the aerial direct to the PVR. You can use this to watch another channel whilst it is recording.

allan: No, an amplifier will not help. You need to move the aerial to the roof where it can have a clear line-of-sight to the transmitter.

Yes, the signal will be stronger after switchover.

SuperDave: (1) is a lie. You get hundreds of channels, not five - see the "fsfs" list at the top of the page. The card provides access to THREE channels: Sky3, Fiver and Five USA.

Why not just buy a Freesat+HD box from a store and swap it for your Sky+HD box? No subscription, full functionality.

A Freesat+HD will cost you £200.

allan: The final switchover date is Wednesday 24th August 2011, but you may still have the same problems with a loft aerial.

Brian: You reception will be fine late in 2012. If you want digital TV before that, yes, Freesat is the best option for you.

Neil: Don't use the Blaze software, it is rubbish, use Windows Media Center instead. It's built into Windows 7.

allan: No type of aerial is suitable for loft reception of reliable digital services.
