I hate myself for noticing this, but I hope those people itching for the BBC to go subscription might use the "upgrade to DVB-T2" excuse to push subscription boxes onto everyone as part of the process.

Payview and subscription BBC might be as close as 2018!

Brian: This is UK Free TV. Virgin isn't Free TV, so you have to pay for it, and is outside the scope of this page.

The page is updated on a daily basis.

R. Mark Clayton: "Oh I hear you say, you should have bought a Broadband aerial. "

Not at all. I suspect what you meant is "bought a Wideband aerial", which every single bit of advice that has been given to the public and industry for the last decade has been saying, for this very reason.

Richard E: to be fair.. They don't do that.

3G came in in 2003, about ten years before 4G.

As 4G is for internet broadband, mobile phones still use GSM and 3G from synchronous communications, phone calls, which is where they make the money.

If GSM is ever cleared it won't be suitable for TV as no TV receivers have ever used the frequency allocations.

Vodaphone has already switched some GSM allocation to 4G.

rod : Basically, that's not going to happen. Aside from the allocations issue, the tiny sites don't have the equipment to transmit anything else.

There is a solution for Freeview Light and it's called "Freesat".

Vaughan: The date is there: the comments are grouped by date and it is just above the box. It says "Tuesday, 25 November 2014" just above your name, for example.
