steve: It's the Doppler Effect - it changes the effective frequency of the signal if you move towards or away from the transmitter at great speed.
The COFDM system used by DAB consists of 1000+ sub-carries - at extreme speed these become distorted and unrecoverable.

jb38: I don't mind the intrusion at all.
I would be very shocked to find that DG required much more than a contract aerial and passive splitters, come Wednesday 13th April 2011, to receive perfect reception from the Nottingham transmitter, as it is less than 3 miles away.

deano1113: The card provides access to encrypted channels you pay for.
You can view free-to-air HD channels without any card. To view the others you need a subscription card in an HD box, with a HD subscription payment attached to the card.

Vicky: You pay you TV license because you have a TV set I would have thought.
The TV Licence funds BBC services only, and you can get all of them.
