Pete: The changes on satellite do not effect Freeview at all.

Peter Henderson: I understand that as no one complained about it being taken off DAB, the BBC did not feel the need to extend the trial.

I agree it is a bit of an anomoly.

John: It is already planned to move it to another frequency, there will be a "third stage" of switchover for any transmitter using C61 and C62.

Peter Challis: SD transmissions will not be moved to DVB-S2 as there are 10 millions SD receivers in use that do not support it.

However, all official HD receivers support DVB-S2.

John: 2G and 3G frequencies are too far from the TV frequencies to cause problems (unlike, say TETRA). Even if you are one of those people with problems, you will be provided with a "filter" at no cost.

Paul: The problem seems to be a software one, that should be fixable via and update. The question is probably how quickly Panasonic can provide one and deliver it via the "over the satellite" software update channel.

David: In theory Panasonic can provide a very simple update to accept the 23.0 parameter. I would imagine that such a simple fix can be sorted out very quickly.
