bruce: No. In fact quite the opposite, the plans specifically disallow the possibility of the "full Freeview" service extending beyond the main 80 transmitters. If you want more channels, try Freesat - see Compare Freeview Light and Freesat TV | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice .

Robin: You will need to use a SCART->phono adaptor such as
SCART to Phono OUT Adaptor : Connect SCART : Maplin
to put in the set-top box.

Tim: Sorry for not getting back sooner. You would expect the services you list to disappear first, as these are on the Astra 2D satellite, which has a "footprint" that is focused on the UK.

You need a large dish to get these services in the first place, and any slight misalignment will make them disappear. You probably just need to have your dish correctly realigned on the Astra 2D satellite.

M Wainwright: You should probably just hang on until 7th/14th September 2011 when switchover on the Malvern transmitter is complete: All six multiplexes will operate at 400W and in the same mode (well, except the HD one) and should provide the same signal quality to you for all services.

Diagnostics - old version

Mark Eccles: One thing to try is - use the SCART connection and go to the settings menu and ensure you are using 720p mode, and not 720i or 1080i or 1080p.

A booster will have no effect on your HDMI link whatsoever.
