You are probably able now to receive the additional Freeview "East Midlands" service to supplement your reception from Sutton Coldfield.
Both the Derby and Sutton Coldfield transmitters are in the same direction so you should be able to pick them up, so clearing your channel list completetly and rescanning should provide you with all the channels.
At switchover, ESPN stays on Multiplex A/SDN, but Sky Sports 1 and 2 move from Multiplex B to the ArqB multiplex, but not yet.

Gareth: You *can* use the cable, but only with a DVB-C receiver, not a Freeview (DVB-T) box.
Such a receiver is DVB-C Recorder DreamBox DM600-C black: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics .
A limited number of television sets support DVB-C, but not that many.
You only get the BBC channels, plus ITV1, Channel 4 and Channel 5 via this method, not the full Freeview lineup.

David: If you are sure you have DVB-T2 equipment (see What does "Full HD Ready" actually mean? | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice ) - I would have a look for Single frequency interference | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice .

Chrissy: It is probably worth pointing out that if you have a signal overload with the high power digital signals, it can appear superficially that the signal is low.
You must remove any boosters and amplifier from your system, and if you don't have them but have used an over-large aerial, you might need to fit an attenuator (they cost about a fiver).
The *correct* signal levels for good Freeview reception is 100% signal QUALITY and about 75% signal STRENGTH. 100% signal strength usually indicates a near-overload situation.

MickO: If there was any consitancy in the way that Freeview boxes report the number of channels, that might be helpful, but some report just TV, some TV+radio, some TV+radio+text, and some have HD and other's don't, some count the encrypted channels (ESPN, Sky Sports 1, Sky Sports 2, G.O.L.D) even if they can't show them, and so forth. So you would have to present so many numbers it would be confusing at best.

Pablo Nerudaata: This problem is usually caused by setting the "video output" to "S-video" rather than "RGB".
If the setting *IS* on RGB, then I would swap the SCART cable out for a new one.

Robert: The signal certainly is not analogue - see How digital television works | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice if you want some proper information.
