Andrew: You are in a strong signal area, so you might need to remove the booster from your system for Freeview HD to work.

Adey: Freesat and Freeview are independent systems, there is no reason why a channels would be both systems.

Sky have entered into "exclusive" deals with channels to keep channels from broadcasting on Freesat, until these deals run out it is unlikely that there will be any more HD channels on Freesat. Please also see Freeview to get fifth HD channel, possibly by Christmas 2011 | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice .

Alex Rutherford: You can't put satellite dishes in the loft, even using a "skylight".

You will have to look at the "footprint maps" for each of the satellites you want to use and work out the dish size from there.

A motorized dish will provide the most flexibility, as there are some English language serviecs on many satellites.

Chris: Yes, you can either go with Beecroft Hill, but only get half of the services, or go the whole hog and point an aerial toward Emley Moor to get everything.

I would certainly get your aerial and cables checked as you are in an excellent reception area even before switchover.

Nick: The BBC rents space on the Astra 2D satellite, and uplinks 15 versions of BBC One - Which BBC regions are on satellite? | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice .

These 15 streams are used by all satellite systems, be they "provided" by Sky or Freesat.
