Darren: A booster won't create a signal from no-signal, and generally speaking digital signals are usually made worse by using boosters.
You didn't provide a full postcode so I can't really comment about the specifics, but note "Arqiva A will adopt its final allocation of channel 52 on 23 Nov 2011".

To be honest, if you live in Morley I'm sure you will get a signal from a rooftop aerial pointing the right way and using the correct polarity.

Thomas: C56 is only -4dB for a group B aerial, so can be received without needing a wideband aerial.

Heavenscentrose: You should only see French channels when there is a temperature inversion...
It would be best to wait for the work to be completed before doing any rescanning.
Arqiva, the mast owners, will be keen to get the work done with as little disruption to viewers are they possibly can.
