Steve P: With a Freeview+ box, you find what you want to record in the EPG, and press record. If you want the whole series, you press "series record".
You can watch one thing whilst recording two others, there's no tapes and no waiting for things to rewind and fast forward.
Everything is recorded with perfect digital quality and can be found and watched in an instant.
Or you can attach a Freeview box to a VCR, have a poor quality record on limited taped storage and still only record one thing OR watch one thing.
Just recycle the VCR.

Louise: From above
"The commercial multiplexes at Sandy Heath will remain on their pre-switchover channels and powers for a period after digital switchover. SDN will then temporarily move to channel 31 (at 20kW ERP) on 31 Aug 2011, before adopting its final allocation of channel 51 on 18th April 2012. Arqiva A will adopt its final allocation of channel 52 on 23 Nov 2011. Arqiva B will temporarily move to channel 67 (at 20kW ERP) at switchover and then it will adopt its final allocation of channel 48 on 14 Sept 2011."

clare McNeil: OK.
1) Usually you just see "no work for this week" and that's it. The air works are unlikely to continue much later into the year - once it gets cold and windy the work is impossible to carry out safely.
2) If you can rescanned whilst the services were off-air, rescan again after 6pm. If you didn't, the services should just reappear in their correct places when the work is done.
