Hello Brian
Thanks for your posting in another forum explaining what happened to Sky 3 !
As I posted earlier I have that modified Digibox and it is working fine however I am still reluctant to upgrade the LNB which will enable full functionality. I even found the F to F Cable I need to upgrade it in a 99p Store today ! However I am concerned about the LNB Self Upgrade process not least because I cannot see how I can squeeze another cable through the hole in my bedroom brick wall. I seem to remember when it was installed I had to help the Sky Engineer by pulling the cable through...!
It looks to me like the only way the cable will go through is if I chop off one of the "F" Connectors then re-attach once it's through that sound right ?
If there is anyone on here in the Stratford East London who fancies taking the job on I am all ears....I just am not paying £50-100 for someone to spend half an hour putting in a new cable....but it doesn't look like a simple DIY job to me....
ANY ADVICE ?

To one and all and Briantist!
I asked this question you must have been busy. You may recall I purchased a SKY+ box with "mods"?
I still have not installed the new LNB I need to enable full functionality (though it does have a record and pause live TV function).
The problem is the cable I purchased (an "F Plug to F Plug") will not fit through the hole in the brick wall that the existing cable does UNLESS I remove the connectors and then reattach it.... it sounds like a simple job to me but how the hell do I do it?

It still seems such a pain though. I have to buy a new LNB install it and even then I am not entirely sure a second cable will fit through the whole even without the connector. I know this is all simple to a professional but to me it is something I can barely be bothered with (which is why I still haven't done it THREE months after buying that Sky+ Digibox! Is there anyone out there local to me (East London) who would be interested in upgrading my Sky dish to Sky+ and how much would the want ?

Someone was saying I need a "meter finder" to make sure I put the LNB in correctly and find the maximum signal is that right ? If so I really think I should hire a professional because this is getting too much...

I still have not got around to installing my New LNB (it works well enough without it for me for a while). I am still concerned that I may not be able to do it myself. Not just installing the LNB itself by maybe loss of signal and finally the cable will not squeeze through the hole in the wall without A) A new hold being drilled or B)The end being cut off and then reattached....any advice ? How much would someone charge to do this for me ?

Hello Brian and Mark
I got that box and it is working fine so far (apart from the fact the fan on it sounds quite loud bearing in mind the set up is in my bedroom.
I still haven't upgraded the dish yet to get full functionality...though I do have both a record and a pause live tv funtion.
I am still a little concenred about performing the upgrade myself-and I amm not going to do it in this weather ! But these are the items I am going to purchase to do it....
ANY COMMENTS fellas ?
