Hi , can you please tell me if it is the local councils responsibility to ensure tenants in towerblocks have their communal aerials updated? My local council (Greenwich)will not have all flats connected in time for the switch over and people will be left without tv for at least a week.

Hi Dave, currently we have a cable system into each flat, and the main communal aerial was disgarded for this a number of years ago.The council are tendering out the contract to install a communal one which involves rewiring into each flat. I am only able to get the regular 5 channels and do not wish to subscribe to virgin/sky as the main councellor dealing with this thinks tenants should!

Hi Dave, I will retry my digibox tomorrow and see what happens. The aerial is from the wall so is not a set top type,I tried these before but they did not receive any signal.Am on a lower floor with another towerblock and maisonettes all round!

hi, can you tell me if the local council are responsible for ensuring a digital ariael is available to a towerblock? Currently all the flats have a Virgin media connection just to get regular channels 1-5, and our switchover (Crystal Palace) is next year so we do not have a strong enough signal to get freeview on digiboxes at the moment. We are having many problems with this issue. thanks gin
