This transmitter has no current reported problems

The BBC and Digital UK report there are no faults or engineering work on the Alton (Hampshire, England) transmitter.

UK Free TV shows the coverage area for a radio transmitter as a coloured overlay (orange for FM, other colours for DAB) on the grey map. We have computed the coverage by combining the terrain with the official radiation pattern. A single click will select the transmitter to view the coverage for a single site, and a double click goes to a page showing full details. Click on the buttons in the right-hand corner of the map to choose from different frequencies (or multiplexes for DAB).

It is 18:00 on May 10th 2017. I live in the Alton transmitter mast area in Hampshire. My TV is simply displaying a message saying "No digital signal available" I have checked the aerial connections. Are you sure there is no problem with the mast?

Simon Allen:

Have your neighbours lost their signals as well?

It is highly unlikely that there is any transmission problem else there would be a great many complaints, not just yours.

I suggest you examine your equipment and all the connections to the aerial. Any aerial plugs should be removed and re-inserted to clear any corrosion from the contacts.

Patric Hinde:

The answer is yes, you should be able to. See ukdigitalradio: Home and put your postcode in the box. Then scroll down through the list of "Tiles" for each station that it produces.

In addition to my last, if you are about to buy a radio, I'd suggest you ensure it has DAB+ (DAB plus). An increasing number of stations are now transmitting DAB+ and beware a lot of retailers are still selling DAB only (+FM) radios (especially some of the very large grocery type stores!!).
