This transmitter has no current reported problems

The BBC and Digital UK report there are no faults or engineering work on the Stockland Hill (Devon, England) transmitter.

UK Free TV shows the coverage area for a radio transmitter as a coloured overlay (orange for FM, other colours for DAB) on the grey map. We have computed the coverage by combining the terrain with the official radiation pattern. A single click will select the transmitter to view the coverage for a single site, and a double click goes to a page showing full details. Click on the buttons in the right-hand corner of the map to choose from different frequencies (or multiplexes for DAB).

Hello,
Last year I replaced my DAB radio and installed an external DAB aerial. This gave me excellent reception of the all BBC and commercial stations. Now Absolute radio is marginal and Absolute 80s is unlistenable due breaking up. I have checked the aerial, cables and retuned to no avail. The BBC radio station signal strength is also down by about 25%
My post code is EX15 1UR and the transmitter is Stockland Hill.
Any ideas what is going on?
Thank you

David George:

The BBC have reported a fault saying the transmitter was off-air "From 3:14am to 3:15am on 27th Jan 2020 - Off the air due to a fault" which obviously doesn't cover the here and now!
That report was posted on the TV tx page rather than here - strange!
Finding any information about transmitter faults for DAB (other than the BBC) is worse than hunting for a needle in a haystack.

The stations you might receive can be found using the postcode checkers at sites like ukdigitalradio: Home & https://getdigitalradio.com/ the latter saying you should have "fair" reception - whatever that means! but frankly they are useless as far as any faults are concerned.

If you are still having problems with the BBC mux, you can report it/contact them at Check transmitter faults | Help receiving TV and radio

Alexander :

Whilst you've posted on the DAB Radio page, it's obvious you mean the Freeview transmitter.
It's possible that there's some engineering work taking place as the BBC reported a fault yesterday - From 10:35pm to 10:53pm on 19th May 2020 BBC A Reduced quality due to a fault &
From 10:35pm to 10:53pm on 19th May 2020 BBC B HD Reduced quality due to a fault.
Whatever work may be taking place it might affect any of the multiplexes and may well be the cause of what you are seeing. How it might affect your reception of a given multiplex will depend on your precise location - we'd need a full postcode to look at the Freeview Detailed Coverage checker to see predicted reception.
There's also some pockets of moderate to strong Tropospheric Ducting around at present which may not be helping matters resulting in interference from other transmitters.

Kevin: Talk Radio is carried on the SDL National multiplex, which is not broadcast from Stockland Hill. If you give us your location (preferably as a full postcode) we can see whether you might be able to receive it from another transmitter.

I cannot get a decent signal on all freeview channels - TV and Radio. I've tried ringing the advice line (03456505050) but it is only open 09:00-17:00 Mon - Fri. I've tried retuning with & without arial connected to no avail. Any other suggestings ?

m webber:

You've posted on the DAB transmitter page rather than the TV one, but not to worry, if you provide a full postcode we can look at the predicted reception in your locale.
