Hi
My next-door neighbour is saying that "something" in my house is causing interference on his new TV(Freeview),yet both my sets and the 3 in the other neighbours houses are unaffected. Is this possible,or is it likely to be a problem with his installation?

Possible - yes.
Likely - no.
Is it intermittant or permanent?

For the past week I have been unable to watch BBC TV Channels 1 & 2 due to 'no signal' and the picture keeps breaking up too. This problem is affecting some of my neighbours. Blackhill and Darvel transmitters report 'no problems' but obviously there is something wrong. I object to paying a TV Licence when I am unable to watch the BBC programmes.

We occasionally have problems in RG42 with Mux2 channels from Crystal Palace (the strongest source).
Most of the time the signal strength is ~70 and error bit level ~1, but occasionally for a few minutes the signal will drop to ~50 or less and the error rate rises to ~4, which causes serious picture and sound break-up. Then it suddenly clears again.
The other multiplexes are fine when this happens.
Any thoughts what this might be?
Thanks.

I think just that you are weak at best so drop off the cliff if propagation poor. digital switchover date | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice That Mux 2 is demanding more from the same power as Mux 1 - also it is the extreme frequency of the range so tyour aerial maybe less gainy there.

Nick Battle: The predictions for Mux 2 are better than for many of the other muxes, so see Single Frequency Interference for possible sources of problems. It could be a case of impulse interference caused by electrical equipment switching on or off.
If signal levels are noticeably lower than the other multiplexes, it could be Short Reflector Syndrome, that the aerial's reflector is too short to do the job properly. http://www.wrightsaerials.tv/articles/whatsat-short-reflector-syndrome.pdf
