Having read many posts about the BBC HD DOG, across many forums, I see overwhelming support them to be removed from the screen as unnecessary and distracting from the content. If fact find it hard to find ANY supporters, so why do you persist in putting it on.

I usually watch on the non HD channel as I find the lack of DOG preferable to my viewing enjoyment, than having HD quality.

So please please please tell me why you persist again the requests of the viewing public. WE DO NOT WANT IT

I agree; the BBC DOG is knocked back and therefore less intrusive but why is it there, the info button gives all the information required. The ITV DOGs are totally intrusive, take them off please I find myself subconsciously constantly reading the dog when it happens to line up with an artifact in the picture.

For the technically challenged could someone explain exactly what a 'Dog' is? If it is a logo in the corner what is the fuss about? If it is something else then please enlighten me.
And while I'm on what is going on with BBC HD? You get a RED screen when national HD switches to local programmes and you have to change channels - this is annoying unless you are on the 'default' local programme. Why can't they just automatically switch to non-HD just for the local progamme?

Rickety: Yes, DOG=Digital Onscreen Graphic.

BBC ONE HD is a national channel, as the regional opt outs would require all fifteen versions to be carried on satellite.

Sky box's can't do the switch yet, even though it would be a very obvious solution.
