Paul Jones: Just to clarify a couple of points, are you saying the old LCD set in your second living room is connected to the main TV using an HDMI cable? as should you be doing this then why didn't you just link the TV into the system using the Sky boxes RF modulated output? switching the 2nd TV over to its analogue setting for viewing Sky, or did you use a long HDMI lead purely for a better quality picture?

The other point concerns your problem of losing BBC when the Sky box is switched on in the other room, as you are using the Kilvey Hill transmitter have you made sure that the Sky boxes RF modulator channel is set to operate up in the 60's, (e.g: 62 - 68) changing this accessed by pressing "Services" then in an evenly spaced fashion "4-0-1-select" and in fourth down position you will see RF output, if necessary change it and save the results.

Maybe you could update on these points before proceeding to anything else.

jb38 - Firstly, many thanks for the post. Correct, we connected the old LCD TV (HD 720) to the new TV using a Neet HDMI splitter purely to get a better quality picture. Plus both RF outputs on my Sky HD box were already full. One to another TV in the bedroom using a coxial cable and the other to our DVD Recorder which has built in Freeview.
I have played about with the Sky box's RF modulator channel, I've used 45, 46 and 47 but I can confirm that it is currently set to 68. Thanks again and I hope this helps.

It seems really unfair of Sky and frankly immoral that when you end your subscription all the programmes that you have recorded are "lost" after all you have already paid once for the privilege of this service. Still nothing surprises me in Sky's quest for cash business ethic. Is there anything I can do to acquire the programmes that I have saved from the recorder before my subscription ends or do I have to succumb to there blackmail

Richard Jones: Not really, except to record them either onto DVD's using a cheap DVD recorder, or much better onto one of the these DVD recorders with a built hard drive, as you can then store everything at the one time, the only bind with doing this being that it has to be done in real time, and that can be for a very extended period of time depending on exactly the size of the content stored in the Sky boxes hard disc.

Just to try and help:

While doing a manual scan on the Guildford transmitter, I couldn't find mux 44, but found 49 worked instead.

I live on the ground floor of a block of flats in Barking. This morning I retuned all the TV's and got good pictures on all TV's for about 1.5 hours. Now I have no pictures or sound on any digital channel but can pick up a snowy picture with sound on the analogue side for BBC 1 and Channel 4. The Digital side just states "no Signal" please check your connections {all are ok} I phoned the council who have just stated "the change over started today, just keep trying".
Is there a problem with the London change over and has anyone any idae how long it could be before I will be able to recieve the channels again??

Ian Porter: Mux 2 at Guildford has moved to C49 (formerly Mux 1, now replaced by BBC A on C43) to get out of the way of Hannington ArqA - which can now finally broadcast to the east!

This is a temporary change until 18 April, when all services at Guildford will be moving to new frequencies (and unblocking the other two restricted services at Hannington).

I am using Guildford repeater with roof top "analogue" aeriel. Even before today's switch over C41 had disappeared and is still showing very weak with no signal. Is this likely to improve after 18/4 or is there another issue to look for? Many thanks
