Channel One to close, Challenge to come to Freeview
Sky is closing one pay and one free channel from the portfolio it bought from Virgin TV, because they match channels already provided by Sky.
Bravo and Channel One (which was Virgin 1 and before that FTN) will close.
This means that the Channel One slot on Freeview will be replaced with the quiz show channel Challenge.
Challenge is now in the Freeview guide on 46. If you can't see it yet, please follow these instructions on your set-top box or Freeview TV: My Freeview box has no EPG, is blank on FIVE, ITV3, ITV4, ITV2+1, has no sound or the channel line up is wrong - ukfree.tv.

Am really annoyed with freeview in my area! Was originally told by the on-digital reps who came to the area b4 the switch over that i would be able to receive dave and other channels. So i went and bought a freeview box. When digital switch over came i could only get 20 channels if that! I use feesat from sky so can watch more channels and some programmes i like but wasted £30 on a freeview box i didnt need! So much for there being a better tv coverage!!

andrew: As you have not provided a postcode I can't possibly comment. ONdigital (or ITV Digital) closed over nine years ago on Wednesday 1st May 2002.

Didn't last very long, did it? Challenge disappeared from our Freeview TV last Wednesday halfway through the Crystal Maze - and despite many retunes since then, it hasn't come back!

I have done a complete retune on the main TV in the house, twice; I have deleted the MUX A channel and manually retuned it several times; I am getting every other channel on MUX A - ITV3, ITV2+1, 5*, 5USA, Quest, etc - perfectly - what else do I need to do to get this one missing channel back? Is it still being transmitted from Mendip?

Briantisit i wasn't told by On digital or ITV digital was told by digital uk just b4 the switch over. I know the reason why i dont get all the channels as i am on a relay trasmitter. But my postcode is EX34 8BW. Still was annoyed to be told i would get channels that i cant get on a relay trasmittor.
