published on UK Free TV

Around 70,000 homes in Surrey will be effected by works on the Reigate transmitter over the next few weeks.

First, from the 16th-18th the transmitter will be off the air during the daytime to allow painting of the drum.

Following this, there will be a ten day period where other engineering work will reduce the power level from the transmitter.

Hi there, what a great and very useful site, thanks!

I live in Reigate, and am still having real issues picking up freeview channels. We're used to the full line-up, but since the transmitter maintenance it's down to about 20 tv channels in total, and no BBC at all.

Does anyone know if the transmitter works are still going on, or have they finished now? Is anyone else still missing loads of channels in the Reigate area?

Cheers

Hi Briantist, thanks for reply. I'd already followed all those instructions as per your recommendation, but no joy I'm afraid. Still missing loads of channels, esp BBC -- no Beeb channels at all right now. I've got 2 different freeview receivers (one in TV, other PlayTV connected to PS3) and they both find the same reduced number of channels.

Up until the transmitter work, we had superb reception -- any reports the reception has changed as a result?

Cheers for your advice

Dan Howard: The best I can suggest right now is looking at Single frequency interference | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice .
