Want more local TV details? See UK Free TV
These channels will their broadcasts during 2013 and 2014, according to information now provided here: Ofcom - Multiplex L.
I have added the details to the existing map page at Local television on Freeview.
Scroll down, and under the map you will find the information on this page looks like:
You will now see details of the multiplexes on the transmitter pages
I have named the L multiplexes with a suffix of the postcode of the target area. So, for example "LLS" is for Leeds, "LG" for Glasgow.
Still to be done is the entry of the raditaiton patterns (see Technical Plan â Multiplex L) and the generation of UK Free TV's unique coverage maps.

I once asked:
I thought Shrewsbury and Telford were proposed to run local TV channels?
Were the companies with applications for licences rejected by Ofcom or something?
Could they re-apply or anyone else apply for a licence in the future?
And how soon could the winning licence get on the air?
Could somebody tell me please?
Thanks. (SJ294530)

Is it true that Local tv be on very low transmitter output where most people like me will not be able to pick it up?

Rob: It's true that the output is limited, but the broadcast "mode" will compensate for this.
As you live between the Hannington transmitter you're in the perfect place to get the Reading service - if someone decides to bid for it.

Stuart Owens: There were never plans - as there don't seem to be "interleaved frequencies" available for Shrewsbury and Telford to have local TV.

Rob: I cant get hannington... as that comes in the back of my house.. but massive hill in front of it.. thats why i have oxford and london... I live the bottom of the valley in purley-on-thames... its very bad reception area..... i know i could go freesat.. but that option is very expensive

Any idea when Workington, Cumbria will get a local tv service?

Will Wren: The best you are going to get is an return to the "Border TV" service on ITV.
There are no plans at all for a "Channel 8". The only service with planning frequencies is for Carlisle and that will be in the opposite direction from the transmitter to you.
