I agree with George. Something at Crystal Palace must have changed since Christmas - possibly a less powerful signal to save on electricity.
My problem is only occasional - every week or so - and then only in patches of a second or two at a time, resulting in a blocky picture and lost sound.
It could be the aerial connections as suggested by Briantist's link, but it seems strange that I am not the only one where this has happened since Christmas.

Eric Brightwell: I would suggest that this is more likely be caused by the vegetation in the signal path and the fact that you don't have line-of-sight to the transmitter. The high ground on which Cookham Dean sits is two miles away of which there are trees on.
If it is worse during high winds then this would certainly tend to suggest trees might be playing their part.

We've defo established Eurosport isn't on free view here in the uk. If you've got the satellite receivers, the dual install described above will do the trick.
Other methods: yes, the evil sky empire or the sloppy/useless Virgin Brandon empire.
If you have a smart TV and its connected to broadband, you can subscribe to Eurosport Player (£3/month w/1-year sub or £5/month Kay as you go) then use the smart TV's Eurosport app. Samsung's Smart TV just released the app, I've downloaded it's subscribed and am happy as a clam. No need to pay for sky or virgin for me now. Yummy.

Referring to my post on 25 May 2013 regarding an occasional blocky picture and lost sound from Crystal Palace, it seems that the cause is likely to be interference from incorrectly suppressed electric equipment, such as cars and motorbikes. A lower signal strength from Crystal Palace will obviously make the situation worse, although not directly causing it.

What is the latest position (Sept 2013) regarding Eurosport with English commentary. Apart from the Sky rip off platform. Are there any broadcasts from any other Sat FTA, I live in southern Spain and look at Astra 2, & Astra1 on a 1.2 offset dish with multi feed LNBs I understand the Astra 2 reception is likely to go bad soon as they change to different transponders etc. So I might have to increase my dish size in anycase.

After loss of certain channels at different times at my holiday caravan (my wifes favorite channels)
I called out the experts , the showed me how there had been water ingress at the mast head amplifierand cable plus corrosion.
The quickly renewed cable and fitted a new aerial.
Problem solved + no loss of channels and better quality pictures.
Well worth the £120 .

If you sign up for BT Infinity broadband, and add on the BT Entertainment pack in order to get BT Sport 1 & 2 ( for Moto GP in particular ) then you will also receive a Humax YouView PVR box and get British Eurosport 1&2 and ESPN for "free". These are all delivered via broadband.
The Humax YouView PVR box works really well and you can record direct from the EPG. You can also access iPlayer features for terrestial programs using the EPG and scrolling back in time up to 7 days - but you cannot then record them.
Please check the details before signing up as they are likely to change over time.
