The problem could be one of:

- the aerial has been moved or damaged;

- the cables or connectors that connect the digibox to the aerial are damaged;

- the digibox has broken.

If you have a "spare" digibox you use this to test the aerial connection. Can you still watch analogue TV OK?

Val:

Then we need to know the exact make and model of your TV set so we can look up in the User Manual - which you should already have or have looked for on-line.

Roy Bracy:

It is very unlikely to the the temproray traffic lights causing the problem.

For any contributor to this website to offer any meaningful help we really need you to put your post code into the site. That way it will display several blue boxes under your postings, which will include details of your local transmitter, any terrain issues like hills or mountains, details of the availab le transmitters, etc, etc.

Further advice depends on that information being supplied by you.

I'm in PE37 8AX. before christmas I had 140+ channels, then picture started to block/freeze. I retuned and lost some channels. This happened on 3 TV with freeview. I got a list of channels to Multiplexs and found that all the channels I have lost/blocking on are Mux PSB1 - BBCA, PSB2 - D3+D4, PSB3 3 - BBCB and COM 7 - ARQC, all at Sandy Heath. The other muxs COM 4, 5 and 6 are ok. From the channel list you can see it's all BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5 services. Any ideas??

Hi, we have lost all reception since a power cut on monday. Our transmitter is Hannington and I have seen that the signal is weak at the moment. Im intending to point the aerial towards crystal palace until the signal is restored from hannington, is this a good idea ?

paul reynolds: No. Hannington should be restored very soon, and unless its very easy to swap it back again, just leave it alone. Besides - despite what the advice is about a weak signal, do you have any actual problems picking it up? If not, dont bother.

Hi Mike,
thanks for your comment. We have had no signal since monday. we have retuned the tv several times every day since then and we still have nothing. This is the first problem in about 6 years since i moved in. I contemplated getting an aerial engineer to look at it for 55.00 call out but decided to get a digital meter from amazon for 10.00. it arrived tonight and i tried it in the wall socket on the ground floor and it tells me i have no signal. im just about to check out the aerial in the loft to see if there is a signal. The power cut must have affected the aerial unless the problem remains at Hannington. I have checked web sites but cant see anything that says there is a problem there. What are your thoughts ? Thanks Paul.
