What can I do when my Sky Digibox says 'No Signal' or 'Technical fau
How to Reset a Sky Digibox when 'No Signal' appears.
Reset method 1 - Delete and Rescan
- Turn the power off at the mains socket. Either do this by pulling the plug from the socket, or using a power switch if there is one.
- Remove the viewing card from the machine. Using a dry cloth or kitchen roll, clean the gold connector on the reverse of the card. Do not use any cleaning products.
- Check cables and connectors are in good order.
- Wait for at least 30 seconds.
- With the card still out of the machine, plug the Digibox back into the mains.
- Ignore all the messages, and wait for around a minute.
- Try 101 for BBC One, 102 for BBC Two and 103 for ITV-1.
- Insert viewing card, wait a few seconds.
- Check 104 for Channel 4 and 105 for five.
Reset Method 2 - Reset the LNB
If the above method does not work, the LNB may have a fault.- Press the [SERVICES] button and then press [4] [0] [1] then [SELECT]
On Sky HD, press the [SERVICES] button and then press [0] [0] [1] then [SELECT]
Press the buttons in the sequence above exactly - do not atttempt to use [UP] or [DOWN]. Note that when you press the second 0 and 1 nothing happens on the screen until you press the final [SELECT]. This is a "hidden menu". - Then press [1] to go to the RF output menu.
- Press [DOWN] three times to highlight the line 22Khz Command and then press [RIGHT] to change the value to [OFF].
- Press [DOWN] and [SELECT] to select Save New Settings.
- Press [SKY].
- Again press [SERVICES], [4], [0], [1], [SELECT]; then [1] again for the LNB Menu. (SERVICES 0 0 1 SELECT for Sky HD).
- Now press the [RED] button (reset all settings), then [DOWN] until you can select Save New Settings again.
- Press [SKY].
Reset Method 3 - Upgrade the system software
If there are still problems:- Turn the Digibox off at the mains again and remove the viewing card.
- Whilst holding down the BACKUP key on the Digibox - NOT ON THE REMOTE - turn the mains power on.
- Keep hold of BACKUP until the screen displays a "UPGRADING SYSTEM SOFTWARE" message ââ¬â this will be white text on a black screen. On some boxes this can appear as a half screen.
- Wait 10 to 20 minutes for the software to download and install. The box will restart when the process is complete.
- Ignore all the messages, and wait for around a minute.
- Try 101 for BBC One, 102 for BBC Two and 103 for ITV-1.
- Insert viewing card, wait a few seconds.
- Check 104 for Channel 4 and 105 for five.

Ruth: You can use any one of the two, it doesnt matter which because both inputs are identical, and you should not really have to do anything with the Pace box either as far as tuning in is concerned, because as soon as you power it and wait until it starts to respond to the remote control, and when it does it will automatically start to search for listings.

Ruth: Meant also to say, that you could use the spare feed from the dish for a second Sky box located in another room or even use it for a Freesat box, because as far as dishes are concerned there is no difference between them.

be: When you say that "nothing happens" are you meaning that when you press Sky it wont respond to the remote control? because if this is the case then have you tried a new set of batteries maybe borrowed from some other device that uses similar AA types.
If though you have done that and it still doesnt work then either the remote control is faulty (not a common fault) or its the boxes power supply that has developed a fault, this not exactly being an uncommon thing to happen on older boxes, and in particular boxes that are housed inside of a cabinet or ones that aren't having their side rows of ventilating grills blocked by the TV times and such likes sitting on top of them thereby causing overheating.

be: the sky is back on now, I went and got new duracell batteries and it seems to work, only not able to press no:1? and the red button won't work? not sure if box or remote is faulty. When it says unplug from mains how long should it take to come back on? Thank you and I hope it stays on now without any more complications

be: Irrespective of what may have been seen on Sky's website or heard from one of their customer advisers the average Sky box only requires to be left unpowered for about 30 seconds or so for purposes of re-setting, and when its plugged back in again it should start to respond to the remote control in about 15/20 seconds and finish its searching for listings procedure in about another 30 seconds or so, although this time can vary quite a bit dependant on the box being used with later boxes being a little faster.
As far as button No1 as well as the red one not working is concerned, thats more inclined to be caused by a worn key pad on the remote control rather than the box, you can check if the button is working or not if you have a digital camera, because if you point the control at the camera and press any button this will show up as a white dot on the cameras viewing screen, that said it only indicates that the infra-red sender is working.

Hi Please can you work this out for me, I lost my channels & asked a friend who installs Cannel plus in Spain to have a look at my Sky. He tested the signal at the dish & it was fine but is a bit weak in the flat. Any way he got my channels back but on the signal test on the Sky test card said no signal! So we changed the Sky box to see if it was the box but no channels so changed back to the other Sky box & have lost my channels. So I had channels with no signal changed the box & lost them all changed back to the other box & still no channels. What do you think is wrong? Very hard to explain.
