Martin Stern: This website doesn't have a tech department or any sort of support line, perhaps you are referring to the Freeview Advice Line? To offer any advice, we need to know which transmitter you're using (please provide a full postcode so that we can see your predicted coverage etc). Also, have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV?

Thanx in advance for any constructive replies. Appreciated.

Why can't I get Al Jazeera, in HD, from the Ridge Hill transmitter?

The Smithsonian Channel, in HD, is a no show too.

I live 20 miles from Ridge Hill, probably line of sight. High gain digital loft mounted antenna.

Gary: Al Jazeera HD closed on Freeview a few weeks ago, only the SD version is now available. There is no HD version of Smithsonian Channel on Freeview, only the SD version on COM7. You will need a wideband aerial for reception from Ridge Hill, it's likely that you currently have a Group A aerial which is designed to receive the lower part of the UHF band, not the higher part where COM7 & COM8 have moved to (there is no such thing as a digital aerial - it's a piece or metal that doesn't know or care if a signal is digital or analogue).
