Are digital TV pictures better?

If your TV is connected to a roof-top aerial in a good reception area, then you will find that digital TV has a very similar picture quality.

However, if like most people you have to put up with some interferance (such as snow or loss of picture) you will be amazed at the improved picture quality and stability.

Generally speaking, once you have a good, stable digital TV picture, it will stay that way!

Hi, Transmitter map doesn't display correctly for Transmitter "Stavely_In_Cartmel" at Stavely In Cartmel (Cumbria, England) Freeview Light transmitter | free and easy for 21 years I have tried this in both Firefox and Chrome browsers running on windows 10. Also, the transmitter name seems to be misspelled, as the nearby village is called "Staveley-in-Cartmel" (not "Stavely"). Thanks for any assistance that can be provided.
Regards, Mac.

HI Mac. Firstly posts on this site do not display immediately most of the time whilst they are "filtered" by spam and swear filters ..... which don't always work correctly!! So you need to wait a good number of minutes refreshing the page and not repeat post. Sometimes the site software will eventually catch up with duplicate posts and remove them.

Map display in Firefox/Chrome .... yes haven't seen that bug in a while, however, if you Enable Pro Mode it will display correctly (in Firefox, didn't check Chrome). I don't know what the cause is, but there are more "important" errors in various places around the site, which the site owner has not had time to fix, so I doubt this will get resolved in a hurry (if at all, unless it's related to a site software update that may go away with the next update!).

As for the spelling, yes it obviously is incorrect, however that is the "official" name of the transmitter site as per OFCOM documentation, and will therefore be promulgated right down through all other related documents used by Arqiva, Freeview, Everyone TV et al and I doubt very much it will ever get corrected because of the number of documents affected by multiple organisations and the cost of doing the correction.

HTH.

Thanks Chris, great answers, I half suspected that the spelling issue was something like that (like the http 'referer' header field), and thanks, pro mode works fine. Apologies for the multiple posts, I thought the captcha was misfiring, first time I've posted here. Please feel free to delete all my posts if you wish (or can).
Help appreciated, Mac.

Hi again. No the site owner (or his software, if it's working correctly) is the only thing that can remove such posts. I see they are already gone. No problem, we all get hung up on that one from time to time!

Ha ha. Case proven! There's obviously a bug in the system after the last (automatic) site software update. I've just had the CAPTCHA thing return a message saying it had timed out, check the box again, so I did. Mistake. EVERYONE ignore it, just wait 5 minutes to see if your post appears.
