Catching up again

Catching up again
published on UK Free TV

Just a quick note to say that I have, in line with my previous post, not been able to answer every single post left on the site.

I have been suffering from insomnia and this has been effecting my concentration, and yesterday I had the sad news of a death in the family.

As I want to cover today's Ofcom 4G auction announcement and how it will effect (or not) Freeview reception, I shall be doing that.

Many thanks to those who are able to help out.

Briantist,
Sorry for your loss.

Keep up the good work with the site. I find it very useful, but family come first.

All the best.

I think it is good news that Ofcom wants to limit the amount of frequencies any single company can own.
But they will all want the 2.6GHz ones which are better in cities and
not the ones that can carry less data but over larger distances in the country side.
Hope they are limited to a bit of all frequencies and not aloud to take all their quota from the most provable ones.

PS. You don't have to answer every question, just the difficult ones nobody else now the answer to. :o)
Hope you stop having nightmares about this site.

Brian Butterworth - corrections to your message:

Match should be March.
23rd should be 22nd.
effecting should be affecting
effect should be affect.

Hope that helps!

Folks
We live in an E-W valley, and analogue reception is dreadful. At present we have 1 Freesat dish and 1 large digital set, but 2 small analogue sets from a yagi in the loft, via an amplifier box. Switchoff is imminent. I'd like to end up with good reception on 3 sets, but how? Same dish? Same amplifier? Same sets?

Peter Barker,
Loft aerials are no good for digital reception, your aerial needs to be out side on the highest part of your house,if you want to run more than one TV you will have to have a mast amplifier system fitted, alternatively if you have a quad or a 4 out put LNB fitted to your dish you could get two freesat boxes for your small TVs, get a local aerial guy to come and give you a quote.

@Tom Fletcher: Loft aerials can be OK for digital terrestrial reception, it just depends on where you are. My uncle has got a TV aerial in the loft and there are also trees surrounding his house and other neighbouring house next to his house, yet the digital terrestrial reception is perfect.
