Aerial systems of blindley heath were on House of horrors and Rogue traders 2003.
When aerial systems closed in 2008 around 20 engineers and 6 office staff went to work for Aerial Force, Aerial force LTD went into administration last year, assets websites and staff went straight to the latest re-incarnation, The TV aerial Company LTD also of Bourne house, Whyteleafe , Surrey. Different directors.
They have many trading names and websites but are not RDI or CAI registered although some of their engineers are RDI.
Get in the popcorn for rogue traders/watch dog this Thursday coming, 8PM.
I know its not on the rogue traders web site yet but will be soon.

P.S The Barnes family have four generations of aerial installers John Barnes was behind Aerial systems, aerial force, the TV aerial company, and possibly the new company that will probably exist next friday after rogue traders is aired.
Most families have a black sheep unfortunately we have a big one.
PPS Mark Smith is the son of John Barnes, his real name is Mark Barnes, he is not an aerial installer but an estate agent, Mark worked for his dad for a while and no longer works in the aerial industry.
Rogue traders have a page on their website for reporting rogues or surrey trading standards will add your complaint to the pile.

Hi all,
What really pisses me off is that even after being caught out time & again these bandit companies rename & continue on to screw others & further blacken the name of our trade. I have seen the watering down of requirements for trade association membership so that people can use private training companies put in 4 days attendance & become a aerial installer, I said in the early days of this thread that I have no faith in self regulation by the trade & after seeing in action Im even more in favour of gas safe style legally required regulation with far far higher standards than currently required which are shamefully low if they can be achieved in less than a week.
No doubt we shall recieve more negative comments from customers after this weeks broadcast but it's the price we pay for this continued aerial farce.

Paul Barnes: Many thanks for that. The show is listed here - BBC iPlayer - Watchdog: 19/05/2011 .

Mark Aberfan Aerials: I think we are all very bored with the idea of "light touch" and "self regulation".
However, I don't think the current government want to do anything other than remove regulations, being very much of the "caveat emptor" persuasion.

Paul Barnes, thanks for that list, it answers some of my search queries.
The registrant seems to be 'The Dakota Group' anybody know anything about them?
Companies House doesn't throw much light.

Hi all,
Whats the bet that those caught out trot out all the usual bulshit such as,
"they strive for high standards but have failed on this rare occasion" "one rogue installer was acting without their knowledge"
& so on.
It would be laughable if it wasnt so damaging to the honest guys but it is still better that the crooks are exposed.

The Dakota group operates Bourne House which is basically serviced office space, they have no connection to "television aerial company limited" other than renting them offices, the new name is Television aerial company Limited company although at the moment they still have half a dozen vans with aerial force sign writing. The other vans are plain white and unwritten.
