Can I use my ex-contract sky digital satellite receiver to get Freeview channels
You can get the following Freeview channels on with an ex-contract digital satellite receiver (once it is connected). Items marked with a star require either a Freesat from Sky (fSfS) card, or a expired Sky subscription card to view.

i have recently connected my old standard sky box in the bedroom and all is working correctly, apart from the fact i have no sound on any of the channels?

gilly: Is the Sky box connected to the TV using a SCART cable?

gilly: You should check in the "Sound Settings" menu on the Sky box to see if the sound has been turned down there. Also check in the same menu that your selected language is "English" and you don't have "Audio Description" enabled.

leah: No, you won't. You will have to pay Sky an additional "Multiroom" fee each month to have the same channels (and also the ability to record/pause/play).

Q. I have an unsubscribed sky box that I can get channels 1-5 and sky news on. I have a digi box that records and want to use it in conjunction with the sky box as no outside ariel. On advice I bought a double scart socket as my tv has only one. I still can't get the digi box to work and it will only send images shooting sideways across screen. Is it possible to do what I am attempting? Many thnaks in advance for response

sheila: You can't use a Freeview+ (or indeed Freesat+) box to record from the Sky box.
