Griff, I'm with you on this one. By the way, if the Yesterday channel had a +1 version, when you watched it would you be going backwards or forwards in time?

Cheers,
Adam.

Backwards by one hour, so it should be called the "25 hours ago channel".

Not sure why my Samsung freeview gives me different channels to my Humax freeview box, nor why free channels on freeview must be paid for on (subscription-ceased) Sky???

John R - why free channels on freeview must be paid for on (subscription-ceased) Sky???

That's down to the arrangements sky has made with the government to be allowed its monopoly on satellite after taking over BskyB

my Samsung freeview gives me different channels to my Humax freeview box,

From the same aerial output? Have you tried full reset tuning both? Both HD or not HD?

Have to concur with Mike Dimmick above:
"If we had to have a replacement from the UKTV stable, I would have preferred Alibi, which has actual programmes on it, instead of this 'reality TV' trash."

I realise Ja Vu is Dave+1. I flip between the two depending what's on.

Steve its nothing to do with that.

Astra 2D carries most of the free stuff and it has limited capacity, this satellite has a very tightly focused beam on the UK, programs on stations like Dave have to comply with broadcast rights and cant be broadcast outside the UK so cant be broadcast on the wider beamed Astra satellites without being encrypted.

Ian: Channels can choose to be 'free-to-view', though, only requiring the one-off purchase of a viewing card ('Freesat from Sky'). Dave is a subscription-only channel on satellite, you must subscribe to the appropriate Sky channel package and keep paying every month to keep the channel.

Sky distribute a (small) proportion of subscription revenue to the channels in the package, and the cost of carriage in the EPG is believed to be lower. Sky may also have offered to 'help' the channel with transponder space or rental costs.
