I have split the signal from my satellite dish and now nothing works.
It is not possible to split the signal from a satellite dish.
If you want more than one signal from the dish, you must connect a quad-LNB and feed a signal from it to each dish

moon: Freeview devices must attach to an aerial, not to a dish or HDMI connection.

Hi, new to the forum, not up with all the technology and terms used so please bear with me, simple question, I share a large dish with my neighbour, run my cable from the dish to my sky box, can I 'split' this feed so running to a 2nd tv and freesat box? if yes whats the best way to do it?
Thanks in advance

steve: Basically no! as the LNB on the dish is controlled reception polarity wise by the station the satellite receiver is on at the time, and so any sharing of a signal from the dish would only work if both boxes were viewing a station on the same polarity, something that cant really be done when two boxes are involved.
If your neighbour had a quad (or larger) LNB fitted to the dish then separate cables could be run to individual sets, which could be a combination of Sky and Freesat boxes as a dish isn't box dependant.

Daren Hicks: You can connect your single dish input to the "dish 1" connector on a Sky+ or Sky+HD box if you want to use it. If you plan to use it long term with a single input there is a menu option you can select.

Alan: Yes, if you also have a dish to supply the signal to it, as Freeview uses a normal aerial whereas Freesat (as the name suggests) is Satellite based.
And as far as the TV is concerned both boxes would be coupled into the TV's using scart leads, or if the TV only had only one scart socket the two boxes being coupled into it via a two position scart switch box, Argos and such likes selling them.

Brian you are the guru here. We have a hd tv connected to a humax feesat hd box. Is it possible to connect a second tv to this existing freesat box? Could you give details on the cables required? The second tv has hdmi and aerial ports. Thanks so much!
