Until I can restore this service, please can you leave any questions you have on an appropriate page, where they will be answered as soon as possible, or below, if you can't figure out where to ask.

Monika Ina: you'd really have to check with the system installer. I would expect that they've used wall-plates intended to pass through signals from one box to another, but have actually *installed* two independent connections on the one wall-plate. Satellite recorders require two independent connections to the distribution equipment.
To avoid damage to anything you *must* switch off the boxes at the wall when you reconnect. The box has to send some power back up the cable to power a normal dish, and to tell the dish which receiving element to select, and whether to select low or high frequencies. (For communal equipment, the dish sends all four possibilities to the master switch, which interprets the signals from the box.) The sparking is probably the power your box is sending.
The hum is likely due to the SCART connection from the box to the TV. SCARTs can easily get slightly disconnected - make sure it is fully pushed home at both sides of the plug. If it persists, try a different SCART cable. It's possible that it's a ground loop - try plugging the TV and box into the same extension lead.

Mike Dimmick: Thanks for that, I have updated the site to reflect the new dates.
Probably for the best the whole region going together, saves a lot of confusion as Tyne and Tees overlap a lot.
So, that just leaves the three groups in Northern Ireland without dates.
Oh yes, and the "4G moves"...

Briantist - Mike Dimmick - There was an article in last weeks Dumfries & Galloway Courier where discusion regarding a re-drawing of the ITV franchise lines eg:- STV North, East,West and a new South area to take in the Scottish Borders and Dumfries & Galloway. Whilst the only Scottish Tory MP David Mundwll, is opposed to this, there seems support from the SNP qho are looking for control of broadcasting Scotland wide. As it seems likely that Westminster are likely to devolve other centralised areas of government to Holyrood, in Edinburgh, I wonder if this will be one of them??

We are on the Malvern tranmitter, but we keep losing BBC1 on our Digibox (older scart connection) on a daily basis...why do we have to keep scanning on our Digibox to get BBC1 back again?
This is a Daewoo digibox purchased in 2007 which we still use for recording onto (but is not HD). Recording is unaffected.
Our newer TV is HD-ready however, with built-in Freeview.

lesnicol: Border TV, I notice has just had it's 50th birthday!
From what I remember, the Border region was always a bit of an strange beast, which was created in one of the original IBA "licencing rounds" back in the old days of VHF 405-line black and white TV.
It's always been the smallest ITV franchise area with the lowest population and has only ever contributed one network programme: Mr and Mrs.
It is a bit of a strange situation that an ITV region is half in the legal jurisdiction of England and Wales and half in Scotland, so it would probably make sense.
However, I'm sure ITV plc would have something to say about some of its business in effect being given to STV, especailly as everything has been the way it is since the 1st September 1961.
I'm not sure it would really be a good idea for the Scottish Parliament to "gain control of broadcasting" given that broadcasting policy is really a UK-wide (and indeed EU-wide), and would require something like a ScOfcom to duplicate the regulation and SBC to buy in the BBC services and then show them (probably without any opt outs).
I'm not sure if I lived in Scotland I would really want the terrible TV that most small EU countries have - all imports and cheap, tatty parochial talk shows.
