I have just bought a Sony Bravia Smart TV and have a Humax Freeview plus box that I would like to use to record programmes (as I used to on my old tv)how do I set this up, currently have it scart connected to TV but this wont let me record though it will play previously recorded material

Degsy: Connect the aerial to the Humax box, and use that to watch and record programmes.
If the Humax box and TV set have HDMI connections, use an HDMI lead, and remove the SCART.
You can't, and never could, record "from the SCART" using a Freeview+ box.

Thanks very much, that is how it was set up on the old Tv so will reconnect and give it a go.

Degsy: You can always connect the UHF (aerial) lead to both the Humax and the TV set, if you need to record to programmes whilst watching another live one, otherwise it much less confusing to just use the Humax box.

My aunt who is 73 changed from a subscription with sky to their free sat service five years ago. She received a new card in 2009. She has recently lost some of her channels and SKY have asked for £25 for a new card. Is this right or are they trying to rip off an old lady.

gin: You are most likely using the Woolwich transmitter which has no digital services until next year. If you have no Channel 5 on analogue this is definitely the case.

Huggie: The card provides access to PICK TV, 5USA and 5*. If she does not watch those channel, do not get another card.
