Will an aerial booster improve my freeview reception?

No, an amplifier won't normally help with a Freeview signal. Can I suggest the following:

1. If you can raise the aerial up by an extra metre or so;

2. Check the direction of the aerial and that the it is either "vertical" or "horizontal" as required.

3. Check that all the connectors and cables are in good condition, look especially for stray wires from the outer shielding on the cable being loose;

i have removed a 3 way aeriel amplifier from my loft and fitted it into my sons house ,he has his tv aeriel inside his loft ... after taking the power from the lighting circuit throught a fused spur and running two extra cables from the bedrooms i connected the unit only to find that my son could only get certain channels from the tv downstairs as at the moment there are no tvs in the bedrooms ... no bbc/itv etc,,, to get all the channels i had to connect the downstairs tv directly to the ariel...is here a problem with the amplifier ..... it worked perfectly well in my own house....thanks

Hi Brian, looked at tht, and removed dvd player from side panel on tv, rescanned and the bbc channels have completely gone now, not even on program list. On channel 50 we have bbc hd which is fine, thats the only bbc channel on the entire list now.
Three months ago we lived at cb23 7xr and had perfect channels.:(

Merry Christmas.x
