Are there any planned engineering works or unexpected transmitter faults on the Chillerton Down (Isle Of Wight, England) mast?

No problems on any service. BBC

UK Free TV shows the coverage area for a radio transmitter as a coloured overlay (orange for FM, other colours for DAB) on the grey map. We have computed the coverage by combining the terrain with the official radiation pattern. A single click will select the transmitter to view the coverage for a single site, and a double click goes to a page showing full details. Click on the buttons in the right-hand corner of the map to choose from different frequencies (or multiplexes for DAB).

Hi,

Are there any problems on the Chillerton DAB service? I am finding BBC Radio Solent is dropping out all the time today on my car Radio.
The reception has been perfect for 6 months up to now. Cheers

I can't receive BFBS in the portsmmouth area. I get alot of TV and radio stations though. Could it be the aerial? I woudl have thought that with digital you either get it all or you don't, I don;t understand why one station would be a different strength. Thanks.

Stuart: Details of BFBS Radio DAB radio station | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice is on the D1 National DAB multiplex and is not carried on Freeview, so having a Freeview box won't get you the station.

You will need a DAB radio to listen or you can listen online - BFBS Radio - Listen live - UK .

Hello All, I purchased a Denon M39DAB and I only receive see the South Hants 11C channels and not D1 National 11D. As 11D is a higher power I would expect to see 11D if 11C is seen. I live near Waterlooville.

Does anyone know a possible reason?

Thanks. Charles

Have there been any changes recently, which would affect the Ryde/Binstead area?

We did not have a problem up until a couple of months ago, but our signal seems weaker, and, at the end of our road there is no signal at all!

I have also noticed that I loose signal in the car several times along the road between Binstead and Wooton, and at more areas in Ryde.

I am getting transmission breaks sometimes up to 30 seconds when listening to smooth radio hampshire on d.a.b. Other stations seem to be O.K. I live in Pennington near Lymington and am using a d.a.b. aerial mounted on my chimney stack.

i'm thinking of getting a combined FM / DAB aerial and pointing at this transmitter as i already use the rowbridge for TV
fitted in the loft and in East Wittering - looks like the coverage is OK
any views on if this type of aerial will work in the loft
