It makes my blood boil a little when the BBC can dedicate a lot of space, albeit temporarily to 24 + channels just for the Olympics. I'd like to see more documentary and classic film channels which, surely with BBC/ITV's archives shouldn't be too hard to do!

Hi,
This might seem a really silly question, but here goes.....

If God to is a free to view channel, then why is it not available on freeview?

We have bt vision and the tv listing guide updated over the weekend. God tv is now listed, but can't view it, just the logo screen appears.

All kinds of weird and not so wonderful things happening to our tv's!!

Why is it that channels such as home, Espn, the zone, sky sports 1+2 etc etc don't work and us are complaint about not having space what's the point in having channels that don't work??

I thought the idea behind switching off the analogue signal was to free up some more bandwidth, thus allowing for more freeview channels? Maybe if they dropped a couple of shopping channels and Babestation+1 we could have some more decent channels! :)

Giles: The point of switching of analogue was to provide a "digital dividend". This was never expected to be "more Freeview channels".

As for the comment about "dopped a couple of shopping channels", there is no "they" to do this.

The Freeview system is a "free market" where channel providers can bid for use of the spectrum on a free and fair basis. If the shopping channels can make a profit, they are entitled to operate.

The "adult" channels only operate at night, using bandwidth capacity provided by other channels going off-air. If they were removed, it won't create any space for new channels.
