How can I get Channel 5 on Sky in Ireland?
You can watch Channel 5 (plus 5USA, 5* and the +1s) by manually adding the channel, as it is broadcast free-to-air.
Use the following settings:
Frequency: 10773 10964
Polarisation: Horizontal
Symbol rate (Mbaud): 22.0
FEC: 5/6

I have lost Five channel family in Barcelona. I have 80 cm. dish. What is the problem? The dish, the LNB, or not footprint?

Francesc: Its a footprint problem, as you are a bit South of the coverage extremities for the new Astra 2F satellite, it sweeping around from roughly just under Nantes and then upwards again near to Stuttgart, and although its obvious that the footprint published is not by any means exact its by far the best policy to make some local enquiries with regards to the minimum dish size required etc.
However, I take it that you have refreshed the boxes memory by disconnecting it from the mains supply and then reconnecting it again after having waited about 30 seconds or so between both actions?

Nobby: How long ago did you lose them? Both services have moved to the newer Astra 2F satellite in the last couple of months. This satellite has a tighter footprint than Astra 1N - which was not originally intended to serve the UK channels, but was moved to this position temporarily to allow the original Astra 2D satellite to be decommissioned early - and so less signal is available in Menorca.
You may be able to recover reception with a larger dish, but you should be aware that the broadcasters are deliberately trying to prevent you receiving the channels. They would have to pay more for content if they were to broadcast Europe-wide than they do if they constrain their broadcasts to the British Isles only. They have to be seen to be making their best efforts to restrict coverage.
The BBC will be moving their services later in 2013, when Astra 2E launches. It is expected to have a similar footprint to Astra 2F.

Hi we are ok now with the channels, think we will eventually need to upgrade the dish but for now we need to get TV into our rooms. So please tell me what is the best receiver to buy for Slovenia useage . Looking at the Pace etc.. But will be guided by the experts ps we swooped our Sky HD for a Eddison and its miles better than the sky HD more reliable. The sky is relegated to our bedroom but still fails us.

Hi I live in the Costa Blanca, and have sky with a 1.9 portuguese dish, we have lost quite a few channels, all of the chanel 5 ones and for most of the day the chanel 4 ones as well as some others, in the morning we cant get BBC or ITV. We have a sky plus box, which would be the best box to use??
