Thanks Brian. Really interesting to look back.
In the early days, I knew someone who worked there and it was a very very local cross boarder and almost a family affair.

DaveCheltenham: I visited Border TV a few times.
Whilst most ITV companies had very impressive set-ups, Border TV was just a medium sized office building in a commercial park.
Really good people though, very friendly.

I used to love Border TV and the programs they put on such as "The way we were" Even though i was not a supporter, i used to like the way they covered football teams such as Carlisle. I started to get to understand the team and kind of hoped they would win each week

Michael: I think Border TV's biggest hit was in 1967 - "Mr and Mrs".
It's strange to think - in these day of Alex Salmond and Nigel Farage - that it wasn't such a long time ago that people still agreed with Samuel Johnson' "patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel", and created a TV station in that vein...

Brilliant. I had missed this BBC Radio report on Border television, so thanks for this opportunity.
I still mourn the break up of the ITV regional network, as it was and Carlton TV who "snatched" the London weekday franchise from THAMES, were mainly responsible for this, along with Granada. Often wonder that if THAMES has not lost the franchise whether things would have been different.
