WILLIAM WATSON:

If she can see the transmitter from her window in daylight I very much doubt she'll need a "high gain" aerial - especially as the transmitter is a group A. You certainly don't want a "high gain" wideband!

Try to get a group A or K aerial as wideband aerials always suffer from low gain in the lower part of the spectrum.

Will watson if you post your postcode we can get a signal strength prediction.

Have you tried an internal aerial on the window sill pointing to the transmitter?

mr j roper: No one is able to offer advice on a query of this nature without having knowledge of your location, this in the form of a post code or one from nearby e.g: a shop / Post Office.

It would also be of assistance if you could indicate whether or not you are using your own aerial or are possibly connected into a communal system.

Mr JR did you try powercycling?

what happens if you change channels?

or press MENU ?

Sounds more like a local problem such as TV set to wrong input than bad signal.
