Feedback
For the last six years, I have answered many thousands of personal emails that you have sent to UK Free TV.
Sadly, I am unable to offer this personal service at the moment.
Until I can restore this service, please can you leave any questions you have on an appropriate page, where they will be answered as soon as possible, or below, if you can't figure out where to ask.
I look forward to your questions!

r. bedford: It certainly seems to go from bad to worse with your reception!, however I would strongly advise you to ask for a quotation before any repair is carried out, because as said by MikeB replacement boards can come a bit pricey.

Hi we are in our motorhome in Portugal (Algarve) and have a UK freeview digital TV. Does Portugal have a DTV service to watch RTP, Sic, TVI etc.and if so it it horizontal or vertical polarised. Also would I have to adjust the settings on the set.

Brian- I do believe most of Europe does now use Digital TV Signals, But I doubt that Portugal use the same guard as the UK?

Ian from notts: "Portugal follows the DVB-T implementation, using H.264 with AAC audio encoding. It has been live since April 29, 2009 and the switch-off date for all analog signals was on April 26, 2012."

Pearl Beesty: If you only have a satellite system installed then unfortunately there is no way around this problem unless the dish is temporarily moved a few inches either way to clear the scaffolding poles.
When scaffolding installers (of the more professional type) know that they are going to obstruct a satellite dish then they will usually try to position the support poles so as to miss the dish, checking with the owner of to ensure all is OK with their reception.
However as you say that your TV has Freeview then dependant on where you reside it "might" work with a set top aerial, or if not by removing the Sky boxes dish feed "F" connector and connecting a wire from the TV's aerial socket to the outer casing of the "F" connector, technically taboo but OK in an emergency situation.
If you supply a post code or one from nearby ,e.g: a shop / post office then this will enable your chances of reception using the aforementioned procedure to be assessed.
By the way, your Freesat TV will also be connected into the dish.

Pearl Beesty- Most scaffolding companies will have done a "Risk Assesment" which will include temporary moving satellite dish's or Aerials?
I would say its worth a mention to the company involved?
Its a common problem to them and I've been called out to put a Sat Dish on to the scaffolding for a month more than once
