UKTV's Drama to be on Freeview 20

Drama, which starts on 8 July 2013, will be on Freeview channel 20.

Drama, the new channel from UKTV (see New channel coming to Freeview - Drama from 8 July) will cause a few number changes for Freeview homes.

If you use Top Up TV, you will find that Home will move to channel 54, and GOLD will shift up six places to 26.

This means there will be room for the new Drama channel at number 20 (contrary to expectations that it would displace Dave Ja Vu at 25).

UKTV's other channels Dave at 12, Really at 17 and Yesterday at 19 do not change.

I live in the tn4 area and the signal on UKTV drama is appalling if any it is basically unwatchable. All other channels are OK. Why is this?

alan whittle: Drama is on COM4 (SDN) multiplex, as is ITV3 and QVC. All these should be the same as far as quality goes because it should be the same signal.

Bring up the signal strength screen and check that it is tuned to UHF channel 42, which is that of the Tunbridge Wells transmitter.

If it is then I would suggest that at 2 miles, with possible clear line-of-sight to the transmitter then it might be that the signal is verging on the excessive and thus overwhelming your tuner at times:

I just wandered why the programme scheduling was so poor last saturday 7/9/13.Tipping the velvet was on after the watershed as expected, but the second half was shown from 12.25am -3.10am on Sunday.Unless you are an insomniac this is stupidly late for most people.the previous mini series shown on a saturday have been split aptly and the second half shown the following week. Why was it not possible to do this the same way?.

We're getting terrible signal loss on Drama (Freeview 20). We're in the NW and connect to Winter Hill, but Auto-Tune gets everything from Wrexham and we have to manually tune until we get people talking English at us again.

Drama is set on 51 and every time we manually tune to 58 it store it back as 51. On 58 it has perfect quality but 51 is unwatchable. We cannot do anything to store it as 58.

Pete: Do an auto tune or first time installation with the aerial out of the back of the TV or box. Plug the aerial back in and check to ensure no channels are stored, then manually tune in just UHF channel 58 - then go back and check to see if Drama is working ok. Continue on with 50 59 49 and 55.

Can anyone help me find Drama on my new Sagemcom RT195-500? My old Bush box died just before Christmas and I was given this one (new) as a gift. Neither the original channel set-up, nor any other first-time setting searches has borught it up, although I see its name scroll past while it does the set-up.
I can't do a manual search, I don't think, without knowing the frequency for this area (South of Edinburgh)
Any pointers gratefully received - we've already missed most the Christmas programmes!

Kmark: If you get ITV3, then you should also have the Drama channel. The frequency from Craigkelly should be UHF 42 - put your postcode in the top right corner of this site and click on "Digital UK tradeview" for more information.

Michael: Whoopee!
I *didn't* have ITV3 - or a whole host of other channels (not ones I missed too badly) - but when I did the manual search on 42 ITV3 and DRama popped up.
I'm very grateful - but can you tell me why it didn't happen when I followed the instructions?

Hello

My daughter lives in North Yorkshire a couple of miles from Northallerton. She doesn't have UKTV's Drama channel on her Freeview Sony TV. She has the Yesterday Channel Dave etc. Did an auto tune but it is still not there. I know it is not a good reception area, and I am not sure which transmitter her aerial is tuned to. Is there anything we can do.
