I have removed all previous stations from my epg list, I have reset to factory settings, I have rescanned, the epg info is installed. As long as as the tv is on the info/ program's are there. A few hours later I turn off the tv. When it is switched back on there are no program's there. It is driving me so mad. Never had a problem before and the tv in the bedroom is ok, still has it's epg info intact, so not an aerial problem. My tv is a pioneer with a fantastic picture, sound , a fantastic tv, that was until this recent request to rescan by digital tv

KMJ,Derby: My aerial is pointing towards the Mendip transmitter and I live at the top of a hill which is at the bottom of a bigger hill. I am able to receive channels like Channel 4, ITV West and the BBCs with Channel 4 being the difficult one that sometimes ends up on channel 8 but it seems that in good weather that the signal is worst. I don't understand how it works but it may have something to do with the fact that the Wenvoe transmitter is higher than the Mendip transmitter and the signal has been boosted because of the difficult Welsh terrain to help provide a signal across the Severn but it's interfering with the Mendip signal, which is weaker because the terrain is flatter. This however still doesn't help me understand why the Bristol local channels' signals are not boosted to compensate for the Wenvoe transmitter and the fact that the Mendip transmitter is 40 miles away from Bristol and has a weaker signal (for no understandable reason).

J Murphy how do you expect anyone to answer when you do not say what sort of equipment you are using?

Or where you are?

Why do you unplug if you know it will give problems?

I have a tv with an integrated freebies tuner. Over the past few weeks the BBC channels (and only BBC) freeze for a few seconds then the screen goes green again for a few seconds before going black for approx 30 seconds and then restores to picture. It will do this every few minutes. I have that if I select to record via the Ian stick while I have a picture, it no longer cuts out. I think it maybe to do with the way BBC uses the teletext service as this is unavailable now on the beeb channels. I receive my signal from the Bath transmitter which is approximately two miles away as the crow flies. Any advice?

I live in North East Czech, and have a 80cm dish on the chimney stack, and an internal receiver in the TV (Philips PFL7008K) I can receive some UK channels (Pick, Challange etc) But would like to have more choice. It looks like the 'Freeview' channels are available to me as the signal & quality strength of say 'Dave' is good.
Can you tell me what type of digi box I will need to buy to get these channels, as they show 'Program Scrambled' at the moment with my internal receiver.
Any suggestions would be great.

Thanking you in advance
John

John You are not receiving Freeview channels (needs an aerial but you're far too far away) but probably Freesat services via your dish. To get the most available channels you need a satellite receiver, probably of the Freesat type but others are available. Look at Freesat Channels - Free Satellite TV, HD and Radio Channels to see what programmes are available via freesat. Depending on your precise location, you may find a larger dish an advantage as the signals carrying the UK services are now aimed more closely towards the UK. Judging by comments elsewhere on this site, I would venture to suggest avoiding a Goodmans or Bush branded box.
