The problem could be one of:

- the aerial has been moved or damaged;

- the cables or connectors that connect the digibox to the aerial are damaged;

- the digibox has broken.

If you have a "spare" digibox you use this to test the aerial connection. Can you still watch analogue TV OK?

My tv was recently retuned because of ITV Be. All seemed well until tonight when we turned on our tv. The channels are all there but there's no signal on any of them. We have to watch the tv through the digi box as it's an older set. Everything was fine last night. Any ideas? I thought or hope it's just the weather affecting it but it's never happened before.

Bernadette Newsham : It sounds silly, but have you checked the back of your set? If there is 'no signal', it means that the TV is getting no signal at all, or too low a strength for the tuner to pick it up. Since the digibox works, the problem is unlikely to be the aerial, which is the normal problem.

On the other hand, the aerial might have come loose or fallen out the back of the set. Its happened to my digibox - the aerial lead has come out, but its so close that you still get the channel info, but nothing else.

Hi, we live in the Bristol area (using the Barton Hill transmitter) but yesterday and today we haven't been able to watch any channels, we just keep getting the message 'no signal'. This is the same whether watching through our freeview TV or through our DVD player. We've checked all the cables and it all looks intact and everything's plugged in correctly. We've also retuned the DVD player several times but it just can't find any channels. We assumed it might be because of the recent bad weather interfering with the signal or damaged the aerial on the top of our block of flats but this is two full days without any TV and we haven't had any messages from the maintenance company about the aerial being down. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions that might help us?
Many thanks for any help.

Sharon: Ask the other people in the block - because that sounds exactly like a problem with your aerial system. If you are the only one with 'no signal', then it has to be between you and the split from the main feed, but if other people are having the same problem, then you need to call the maintenance company. The aerila does not need to have falleen over not to work - its generally the cable between the aerial and you where the problem lies, or it could be the electrics on a booster system, etc.

Sharon: Ditto MikeB's comments.

Judging by the aerials on Streetview, pointing in different directions, reception doesn't appear to be easy. I may be suggesting something that's already been dismissed as a possibility, but if you could receive from Mendip then you'd have all the channels.
