Map of all DAB transmitters

You can click on a transmitter group symbol to see all the masts in that county or area, or click on a single transmitter to see the coverage area. Due to the large number of radio transmitters, many have been grouped into counties or administrative areas for ease of viewing.

What do the map symbols mean?

I'm in Hythe, Kent, where LW/MW radio reception in the evenings has been terrible for years because of continental signals interfering. I'd love a digital radio, but my postcode apparently has no DAB reception at all. However, on this map there is apparently already one DAB radio transmitter and DAB coming (out of area) both within a mile as the crow flies. What does DAB coming (out of area) mean?

Mike Davison: That's good news. Does this mean the whole of the UK will have DAB local radio by Christmas?

Why are the DAB stations on my radio different to that received via TV?

Chris Orme: your tv isn't using DAB, it's Freeview, so that is DVB-T.
