Are there any planned engineering works or unexpected transmitter faults on the Mendip (Somerset, England) mast?
Mendip transmitter - Mendip transmitter: Possible effect on TV reception week commencing 18/11/2024 Pixelation or flickering on some or all channels
UK Free TV shows the coverage area for a radio transmitter as a coloured overlay (orange for FM, other colours for DAB) on the grey map. We have computed the coverage by combining the terrain with the official radiation pattern. A single click will select the transmitter to view the coverage for a single site, and a double click goes to a page showing full details. Click on the buttons in the right-hand corner of the map to choose from different frequencies (or multiplexes for DAB).

richard:
DAB signal as good as lost here ( Wilts/Somerset border, A366) as from last afternoon. Badly broken up and garbled. Full scan and reset make no difference. BBC don't seem aware.

RTIS say they were not made aware of the problem until Saturday morning - because no-one reported it to them - but the technical team is now at work on Mendip Transmitter to find out why only the 12B multiplex is affected.
At least we can still receive BBC Somerset because that's transmitted on 10B.
For everyone's future reference, the RTIS telephone number is 03709 016 789.

We are a DAB household with 5 DAB radio's. We lost all DAB reception on Friday afternoon. As all 5 radio's are affected and all show the 'station unavailable' message it is very clearly the signal that is at fault, not our radio's. BBC claim to be unaware of any problem. Curious!
