I think it was ridiculous that BBC3 was ever discontinued as a TV channel as this immediately denied access to the proportion of the population who are mainly elderly and do not possess modern media technology.

Nicholas Anderson: Most of the programming on BBC3 is targeted at young adults, so how relevant is it to provide access to elderly viewers? I think this stereotype that elderly people can't use modern technology is often incorrect. I run a business which has a lot of elderly customers, many of whom use smartphones and tablets on a daily basis and have cable or fibre based broadband in their homes. It depends on the mindset of each individual, but there are many out there who, with some help, are willing to learn and use newer technology when they see how it can benefit them.

I enjoyed the comedy side of BBC3 nearly as much as the arty side of BBC4, yet despite having both the Tech and the ability to watch 3, I mostly forgot it existed as it didn't show up on any EPG.
I welcome it's return .
