Jack Owens: Hi, Jack. If it's channel 59, the most likely issue is 4G interference. Do you have a 4G filter fitted? A filter is free from at800, the organisation set up to make sure viewers who rely only on Freeview for TV continue to receive it when 4G services arrive in their area. Its web address is:-

at800 | 4G & Freeview | 4G interference | 4G Filters | 800 MHz

Hope this may help, Richard, Norwich.

Kathleen: Hi, Kathleen. If you can watch channel 5 in HD on channel number 105, why are you bothered about not being able to watch it in standard definition on channel number 5? Richard, Norwich.

Jack Owens: Hi again, Jack. I'm sorry that it wasn't as simple as a 4G issue! Looks like it's back to the suggestions made by Mike B. Remember that something as simple as a small group of frayed strands of wire in the braiding of the outer copper of the aerial lead or fly-lead can prevent just one multiplex from being received properly! Good Luck! Richard, Norwich. PS High pressure could be the other option, which means waiting a day or so for it to lower!

Do I need to buy a booster? | Installing
Sunday 21 August 2016 3:56PM

Mike Stevens: Hi, Mike. The height of your aerial is an important factor. Is it, for example, as high as it would be if installed on the top of a bungalow on land? Could you have your aerial fixed to a taller pole on your houseboat than you have at the moment? I would experiment with aerial height first before making the financial layout for a masthead amp. Richard, Norwich.

All free TV channels in the UK

Rob: Hi, Rob. To whom do you think you are addressing your comment? This UKFREE.TV website is for helping viewers who are having tv reception problems. 'Movies for men' is available on Channel 48 on Freeview and Spike is available on channel 31. Freeview is not a tv streaming site , but Freeview is digital terrestrial television reception with an aerial (the way that the majority of UK tv viewers receive television). Furthermore this website, UKFREE.TV is not a tv channel streaming service. It would seem that you have your wires crossed, Rob. Richard, Norwich.

Melanie Collins : Hi, Melanie. The Bilsdale West Moor television transmitter does not have any reported problems and so it would seem that you must have a problem with your tv reception installation. Check with your neighbours to ascertain whether they are having any 'Freeview' signal problems before checking your own equipment. Richard, Norwich.

Bob Loader: Hi, Bob. Have you tried 'Settings'>Display and 'Settings'> Personalisation'? I've had issues with the Google Search Page Display since Olympics started and Google was putting 'Google Doodles' on this page. No issues until I installed the Anniversary Update. By the way, I use Mozilla Firefox as my default browser and have done for several years. You could download it for free and give it a try. Richard, Norwich.

Dave : point your aerial West North West towards Caradon Hill, Liskeard: this is best done with someone watching tv while you do it to monitor signal strength and quality on different channels as you align the aerial to transmission site. Richard, Norwich.

Oulton (Suffolk, England) DAB transmitter
Friday 26 August 2016 4:50PM

Richard Cooper: FAO Briantist. Hello, Brian. Just noticed that you're not showing the Norfolk multiplex on 10B from the Oulton Suffolk DAB transmitter. whilst Oulton is in Suffolk, it actually transmits the Norfolk local DAB multiplex because residents of North-East Suffolk have more of an allegiance to Norfolk & Norwich, NR postcodes than they do to the rest of Suffolk & Ipswich (IP postcodes). This is rather like Mendlesham in Suffolk carrying the Norfolk local DAB mux, although Oulton only carries it at 250 watts (same power as it carries D1). There are no plans to put the Suffolk local DAB multiplex on Oulton when Muxco starts the multiplex on 10C in October for reasons I've set out above. Historically, the residents of North-East Suffolk have received their AM signals from Postwick and then also Brundall from 1984, and FM from Tacolneston for BBC Nationals and Radio Norfolk before mid-00s, then Radio Norfolk from Stoke Holy Cross since mid-00s.

Elizabeth: If you have Freeview capable tv sets and wish to use the Freeview platform instead of Sky on these tvs, then 'Yes', you do need a Freeview tv aerial. In order to recommend the type of aerial, we need to know the district in which you live, either its name or part of your postcode can help us to decide which Freeview tv transmitter you should use and accordingly which type of aerial. Once you've successfully terminated your Sky contract, the Sky dish can be taken down, unless you later change your mind and go for Freesat instead of Freeview, because for Freesat you would still need a dish. Hope to hear from you again, soon. Richard, Norwich.
