Janette Chalmers: Hi Janette. Viewers in Llantwit Fardre are advised to use the main Wenvoe full Freeview transmitter, a few miles West/South-West of Cardiff. There are no reported problems on this transmitter and so you need to THOROUGHLY check your aerial leads and connections ( tv end and wall-plate end). Ask your next door neighbours if they are having ay reception problems too. It could be that high air pressure and warm temperatures are affecting your reception and , of course, you can't do anything about those - other than to wait until atmospheric conditions change so as to improve your reception. hope this is of assistance, Richard, Norwich.

Stuart Swaine: Hi Stuart. The Idle transmitter does not carry the second set of HD channels in the group known as multiplex 'COM7', which would explain the reason for your inability to receive them, Richard, Norwich.

Hi, Brian! Great work on adding the Sound Digital Data to UKFREE.TV! This won't, of course, placate Planet Rock fans who aren't covered yet! The SDN D2 network will hopefully expand over time, but I'm not holding my breath - are you? Richard, Norwich.

Geoff: Good morning, Geoff. I've just checked fault reports on the Oulton transmitter and the summary is stating, "The BBC and Digital UK report there are no faults or engineering work on the Oulton (Suffolk, England) transmitter", however I have just been on to the BBC website and found this, which was published this morning at 09:12 a.m., "Date: 29.06.2016 Last updated: 29.06.2016 at 09.12 "BBC Radio Norfolk on DAB: Multiple transmitters across Norfolk, carry BBC Radio Norfolk are currently off air". No reason is given for this, but at least it shows that the BBC are aware of the problem and are probably working on it right now. BBC Radio Norfolk on 95.1 MHz FM and 855 kiloHertz AM, medium wave are unaffected and are transmitting normally, so i suggest you revert back to 'steam radio', or alternatively listen online, via this link:-

Summarising, 95.1FM, 855 AM or listen online - all working in Norwich at 12 midday, Richard, Norwich.

Phil: Hi, Phil. The reason you can't get the non-BBC stations is that one of the other multiplexes that carries them is down and the feeds from the broadcasters are not getting to the transmitters around Norfolk. Oulton is one of several transmitters in East Anglia that have been affected. The issue is being worked on as I write this to you. If you specifically wanted to listen to Absolute in Great Yarmouth, it is available on 1215 kilohhertz in the medium waveband on analogue non-digital A.M. radio. I just checked here in Norwich at ten to four, just now. You might need to turn up the treble control, because A.M. tends to have a poorer audio frequenc response than DAB. Another alternative available is to tune to channel 727 on your Freeview television. The sound on that is crisper than on an A.M. radio. Finally, there is the abosolute radio live stream online. Note that the company insits that you sign up before they make it available on your home computer.
Absolute is also on Tune-~In radio online, but for that you have to sign up to Tune-In radio. So many alternatives to absolute on DAB are availale. If you wanted a different station, come back with its name and I'll give you different ways of getting it! Hear from you again, Richard, Norwich.

Garry: Hi Garry. This is Richard in Norwich. The commercial DAB stations have been off air from the Oulton and Stoke Holy Cross (Poringland) (near Norwich) transmitters since early this morning. Stoke Holy Cross came back on in the last few minutes, so I can get Absoute, Smooth, etc, again. Assuming the fault has more or less been corrected, I'd expect the Oulton, North West Lowestoft transmitter to have the commercial DAB channels back on again very soon indeed, so keep trying, or switch to A.M., Freeview tv radio channels or listen online until DAB is back. MikeP: Hi, Mike. Regarding software updates, since starting to contribute to UKFREE.tv a few weeks ago, I must say I haven't really read or seen any discussion on software updates until you raised the subject just now! Maybe, in itself, it would make an interesting thread or even a whole UKFREE.TV website topic for Briantist to consider, bearing in mind there are software updates for many different items of tv and radio receiving kit these days!
Regarding reporting suspected faults to the BBC, I have increasingly been encouraging correspondents to do that today! Regards, Richard, Norwich.
