The BBC and Digital UK report there are no faults or engineering work on the Balgownie (Aberdeen City, Scotland) transmitter.UK Free TV shows the coverage area for a radio transmitter as a coloured overlay (orange for FM, other colours for DAB) on the grey map. Thanks for all the info CFhris. I was always led to believe that Balgownie was rhe main transmiier for the area around Dyce. I guess I will just have to invest in an external DAB antenna and a new radio with an external antenna option.

Allan Robertson: All four multiplexes that Redmoss transmits, BBC National, D1 National, SDL National and Aberdeen local, are 1.2kW. All transmissions have the same aerial height and radiation pattern, so they are from the same antennas. They are directional, in the direction of Aberdeen and its suburbs.
Balgownie carries just the BBC National DAB multiplex at 300W.
Your next-closest DAB transmitter is Durris. It broadcasts the Aberdeen local multiplex at 2kW, and the BBC National and D1 National both at 10kW each.
The only SDL transmitter is Redmoss. In fact, Redmoss is the north-most SDL transmitter in the country.
